Which Pacific Signaleer Is The Best Warrior?

Soldiers of the 311th Signal Command (Theater) conducted their annual Best Warrior Competition for Signal Soldiers of the Indo-Pacific theater, Apr. 3-8. Soldiers representing the 516th Signal Brigade, 1st Signal Brigade, 311th SC(T) HHC, and Support Unit in Tustin, CA, gathered at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, for the competition. Soldiers and Noncommissioned Officers competed in a series of events that tested their knowledge and execution of Basic Soldier Skills, professionalism, physical abilities, and resilience. Staff Sgt. Matthew Hauffen was selected as the 311th SC(T) Active Component NCO of the Year, and Spc. Andre Araiza earned the title of 311th SC(T) Soldier of the Year. Both Soldiers will represent the 311th SC(T) in the upcoming NETCOM Best Warrior Competition. Sgt. Gerard Garcia, the command's selected Army Reserve NCO of the Year, will represent the 311th SC(T) in the upcoming USARC Best Warrior Competition. Staff Sgt. Christopher Owens was named runner-up Active Component NCO of the Year.
